Where to Buy Cheap Ski Jackets

Oli Lynch by Oli Lynch

get the complete look with a cheap ski jacket this season

Discover where to find affordable ski jackets without compromising quality. Unveil the top places for budget-friendly winter gear and hit the slopes in style.

It’s that time of year again… You’ve spent out on your ski trip, but when you check your winter wear from last year, well… It’s time to replenish your wardrobe with some stylish, warm and waterproof ski wear.

You don’t have to spend a fortune on ski wear though. There are plenty of places to find excellent ski jackets and other ski clothes for bargain prices.

Ski holidays incl. lift pass

We’re gonna run through some of the best places to pick up quality gear for skiing and snowboarding at low prices.

Yes, there are some affiliate links in here. This means we earn a commission if you do but via these link.

Decathlon

Our first pick is probably the best place for a huge range of quality winter wear, including clothing and equipment for skiing and snowboarding. Decathlon’s range of ski gear, with the Wedze brand, is undeniably top quality.

In fact, our review of the best budget ski goggles included several Decathlon options.

We like Decathlon/Wedze for their top quality ski jackets and accessories. They’re especially good if you want to kit the kids out in something that will meet the standards required to keep them warm and dry on the slopes.

Check out Decathlon’s ski range.

Sports Direct

The British answer to Decathlon, Sports Direct is well stocked with standard issue cheap ski wear, including some good ski jackets from their in-house brand Nevica. You’ll also find surprisingly decent snow essentials from brands like Adidas and Jack Wills (I never even knew they made ski jackets…) amongst others.

Sports Direct also stock budget ski wear outfitter Dare2B (more on them in a moment) and brands like Spyder and Quiksilver.

While you might not hit the slopes with the best style ski wear from here, it will be functional and, crucially, cheap. You’ll also find all the essentials including gloves, helmets, base layers, goggles and the rest.

Check out the full Sports Direct winter sports range.

Mountain Warehouse

Another British high street staple, Mountain Warehouse are a reliable source of good quality ski wear, including ski jackets, gloves and ski pants/salopettes.

One cool thing that Mountain Warehouse do is that they sell packages of ski essentials for men, women and kids. This means, for one price, you get the ski jacket, ski pants and ski gloves for what is, quite frankly, a pretty solid price.

If you’re looking to take the family to the slopes on a budget, you should probably take a look at the Mountain Warehouse offerings.

Online Snowsports Retailers

There are obviously plenty of online stores which offer some great opportunities to pick up cheap ski and snowboard jackets, often at better prices than you’d find on the high street, and definitely better than in ski resorts. These can be great if you’re particularly brand conscious and you want a cool brand.

Some good options include Blue Tomato, who are a great option for both budget ski jackets and premium snowboard and ski brands like Ortovox, Volcom and DC at much lower prices.

Another option is Simply Hike, who stock a decent range of affordable ski jackets in the UK, including brands like Salomon and Elbrus.

Make sure to check out our ski jacket buyers guide too.

Dare2B

Offering stylish and functional ski jackets at frankly pretty solid prices, Dare2B are a decent brand with what we think are some cool jackets and snow wear. (check our Dare2B review)

While they mostly sell through their website, you’ll also find Dare2B stocked in high street stores including Sports Direct and Go Outdoors.

A good source of low cost skiing and snowboarding essentials with style. They also stock winter season essentials including base layers, ski pants/salopettes, hats, gloves and more.

Check out the full Dare2B ski range.

Amazon

Yes, of course the world’s biggest retailer sells ski wear! If you’re looking for a cheap ski jacket, you can try some of the budget brands on Amazon. I can’t vouch for their random brands, which might not look super cool while you’re shuffling onto the chair lift or waiting in line at Geneva Airport. But if you want one of the premium brands at a relatively low price, a quick search on Amazon could bag you some bargains.

A good example is this cool and stylish Columbia ski jacket on Amazon.

Or, this O’Neill ski jacket on Amazon.

There are also high street budget brands such as Trespass, Mountain Warehouse and Regatta here too.

Of course the benefit with shopping on Amazon is that the delivery is (usually) super quick, especially if you have Prime.

Dope Snow/Montec

You can’t miss these guys on the slopes these days. Dope Snow and Montec are stylish modern ski/snowboard wear brands owned by Swedish retailer Ridestore. While they’re not the cheapest gear on this list, they do offer high quality performance gear which also looks very cool and significantly cheaper prices than similar spec brands.

While there is a bit of controversy with the brand, some in the snow sports community feel like they’re too Instagram focused – or something… The truth is they’re a great choice for a cheap ski jacket.

Read our full Dope Snow review.

Trespass

Probably one of the best known British outdoor wear brands, Trespass have come to be a bit of a staple for British skiers and snowboarders. The reason for this is that they offer pretty damn good ski wear at what are very solid prices.

I also think that their snow gear and ski jackets are pretty stylish, which helps. To add to this, the technical stats such as waterproofing and breathable fabrics are legit too. Chances are there is a Trespass store on a high street near you (assuming you’re in the UK).

Or, shop Trespass online, or shop Trespass on Amazon.

Buy Second Hand…

Looking for top quality at bargain prices? Pick up second hand ski wear brands for that stylish edge with a pre-worn vibe.

Top places to find your ski and snowboard jackets include:

  • eBay – still a great place for second hand ski jackets and other essentials.
  • Vinted – Pick up a great used ski jacket on this ever popular second hand shop.
  • Charity Shops – Keep your eyes peeled for a bargain ski jacket or other items in your local vintage or charity shop.
  • Facebook marketplace – Probably the only thing Facebook is good for. Find bargains in your local marketplace…

So these are our top picks for cheap ski jackets this season. We hope you’ve found it handy. A ski jacket can also be a great gift for a skier or snowboarder, so these can serve as some present suggestions too.

Check out our guide: Cheap ski goggles that don’t suck. And ensure you’re packed for the slopes with our best selection of ski pants/salopettes.
