In case you haven’t heard, artificial intelligence is all the rage at the moment. And one area where it still has a little way to go is with video.
You may have already seen some of the hilariously bad AI generated videos that have been flying about this year. There was an awesomely bad beer video, which was more like a glimpse into some scene from hell, and then there have been several weird AF pizza based videos. My fave was probably the pizza nuggets video (like whaatttt-the-actual-F??).
Anyway, they were all just the warm up for this hilariously bad and gravity defying AI generated snowboarding video.
Gravity? What gravity?
Probably the most obvious thing that highlights the craziness is just the non-existence of gravity as we know it in this video. And actually, that’s probably the least weird thing about it.
We’ve got snowboarders spinning into nothing, and then reappearing. Various people merging or multiplying, some tricks that look like they came out of a glitchy early 2000s Playstation game, a disembodied sunset, that seems to just be framed by some random clouds, and all manner of impossible moves.
OK, I’ve spoiled it enough. You just need to sit back and watch.
Yeah, so how was it for you?
If this has made you question your snowboarding skills and vow to be able to grind an entire mountain before folding into your snowboard then… Well. Yeah well, theres not much I can say for that.
There is literally so much absurdity that it’s hard to pick out the single craziest moment. And the whole video is such a hot mess and messes with your mind so it doesn’t really demand repeat viewings either.
Of course, the fact that there is even an AI snowboarding video at all that looks at least partially realistic is still pretty amazing. And with the technology still in it’s infancy, it’s probably just a matter of time before we really can’t tell the difference.
But in the meantime, it’s good for a laugh.
